I’m trying to convince yet another friend to watch “Schitt’s Creek.” “You love Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara,” I say for the 100th time. “Chris Elliott is in it too — and I promise you’ll fall in love with Dan Levy.”

I understand their resistance because I was like them once.
